Matern Staffing is hiring a Production Assistant for a wall barrier engineering and manufacturing facility in Spotsylvania, VA. In this role, you’ll support daily manufacturing and production operations. This position plays a key role in production tracking, reporting, safety compliance, and workforce coordination within a growing manufacturing environment.
Salary:
$20/hr+
Schedule:
1st shift -Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Every Saturday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with pre-interviewing and screening candidates for production roles
- Support payroll processing and time & attendance tracking
- Maintain accurate headcount and staffing records
- Track production numbers and assist with monitoring production targets
- Update and maintain production dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI
- Collect and organize production data for supervisors and management
- Assist with inventory ordering and tracking supplies/materials
- Conduct and support safety audits and safety-related initiatives
- Assist with employee training coordination and documentation
- Regularly walk the production floor and communicate with supervisors and team members
What You’ll Need:
- Manufacturing or production environment experience strongly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with Power BI preferred
- Comfortable working both in an office setting and on the production floor
- Strong organizational, communication, and data-tracking skills
- Safety-minded with strong attention to detail
