Matern Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator at a wall barrier engineering and manufacturing facility in Spotsylvania, Va. The Machine Operator runs the machine that processes wire materials used in fencing production.
As a Machine Operator, your mechanical skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality help produce unique security solutions for the government, commercial, and private customers.
Salary:
- $19/hr
Schedule:
- 1st shift training Monday-Friday 7am-6pm
- Transition to 2nd shift – Monday–Saturday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
What You’ll Do:
What You’ll Do:- Operate and monitor wire processing and fencing production machinery
- Load wire materials into machines and ensure proper setup for production runs
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Monitor machine performance and report operational or maintenance concerns
- Maintain production targets and efficiency goals
- Perform basic troubleshooting and machine adjustments as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
- Experience working with wire, fencing, fabrication, or industrial equipment is a plus
- Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
- Ability to read measurements and follow production specifications
- Comfortable working around machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work throughout the shift
- Dependable with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
- Steel-toed boots required
