Matern Staffing is currently recruiting for a Machine Operator at a manufacturing facility in Fredericksburg, Va. The Machine Operator is responsible for the continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications, detecting jams or malfunctions and adjusting as necessary. The candidate also measures and visually inspects products for defects to ensure a high quality, precisely finished product.
As a Machine Operator you’re an analyzer, builder and mechanic. The Machine Operator runs the important machines that builds the product and makes adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Salary:
- $16.50/hr
Schedule:
- 2pm-10:30pm, Monday thru Friday
What You’ll Do:
What You’ll Do:- Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
- Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
- Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
What You’ll Need
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
