Food Production Worker

Matern Staffing is hiring Food Production Workers for a food manufacturer in Stafford, VA. In this role, you’ll ensure the efficient flow of raw materials and packaging to and from the production area, adhering to good manufacturing practices and food safety standards to produce safe, high-quality products. As a Food Production Worker, you’re an important role in ensuring the quality and efficient preparation of fresh, frozen and packaged food creations for shipping to local customers.

Salary:

• $17/hr

Schedule:

• 4:30am morning shift
• Rotating schedules (5 days on, 2 days off)

What You’ll Do as Food Production Worker:

• Ensure safe, timely and efficient transport of raw materials and packaging
• Rotate frozen items according to thaw schedule to ensure proper thaw time prior to production
• Move finished product from the production floor to the order selection area and/or freezers
• Follow food safety and manufacturing practices 
• Unbox foods from original packaging and move to new containers

What You’ll Need as Food Production Worker:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred 

• Basic math skills and ability to speak/write English 
• Experience using basic cooking tools and equipment 
• Ability to withstand a cold work environment 
• Stand, bend, push and pull for 10-hour shift 
• Material handling experience with ability to lift 50 pounds to chest height on a consistent basis 
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
