Building Materials Supplier
Matern Staffing is hiring a Dispatcher (job id 3947) at a building materials supplier in Fredericksburg, Va.
The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in the seamless delivery of products to customers. By efficiently assigning drivers, coordinating delivery schedules, and addressing customer concerns, they ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Salary:
- $18-$24/hr, depending on experience
Schedule:
- 6 am start, Monday thru Friday
What You’ll Do:
- Assign drivers and vehicles for timely delivery of customer orders under general supervision
- Direct drivers through two-way radio communication and establish service routes for regular customers
- Coordinate with customers and sales staff to determine preferred delivery times and create delivery schedules
- Keep records of mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and other delivery-related expenses
- Address customer concerns/questions regarding deliveries and expedite solutions for missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Prior scheduling and dispatching experience
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with coworkers and customers
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills for deploying solutions
- Knowledge of DOT or other requirements regulating work activities
- Ability to adapt to new situations, always ready to step in to help
- Strong computer skills in MS Office products
