Matern Staffing is hiring a Site Superintendent for a growing residential construction company in Fredericksburg, VA. As a Site Superintendent, you’ll play a key role in bringing new homes to life by overseeing day-to-day construction activities from groundbreaking to completion.
Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll ensure each home is built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who thrives on organization, collaboration, and delivers an outstanding experience for both homeowners and trade partners.
This is a full-time position.
Salary:
- $75,000-$100,000/yr
Schedule:
- 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday with some Saturday hours possible

What You’ll Do as Site Superintendent:
- Oversee daily construction operations for assigned home sites, ensuring work meets schedule and quality expectations
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, verifying that all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with project specifications
- Maintain and manage construction schedules, proactively identifying and addressing potential delays
- Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards
- Complete construction tasks as needed such as general carpentry, siding, etc
- Prepare and submit daily construction reports documenting progress, site activity, and any issues requiring attention
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Project Manager and ensure upcoming activities and look-ahead schedules are properly planned and executed
- Participate in internal pre-construction meetings to support project planning and successful execution
- Lead homeowner pre-insulation and pre-settlement walkthroughs, providing clear communication and exceptional customer service throughout the building process
What You’ll Need as Site Superintendent:
- At least 5 years in new construction experience
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read, follow instructions, and work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer experience skills
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting/carrying 50lbs+, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to travel between job sites; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
