After earning a Business Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech in 2002, Kris moved to Raleigh, NC. She worked as a Business Analyst for 9 years at NC Farm Bureau. She had her first daughter in 2011, and became a stay-at-home mom. Wanting to find a professional outlet while being a stay-at-home mom, Kris then began blogging about the local Raleigh parks in 2011 and working part-time for Matern Staffing (then At Once Staffing) in 2012.

Kris enjoys carrying on her family’s passion for strengthening her childhood area’s workforce at Matern Staffing. During her teenage and college years she worked numerous temporary jobs (flagger, data entry, production and many more) for her mom at Stat Employment. Today, she’s responsible for supporting and enhancing the company’s website, and develops and contributes to the company’s social media sites. She’s the proud mom to two young daughters, and wife to a fellow Hokie. Kris resides in Raleigh, NC and works remotely part-time.
