Matern Staffing is hiring a Welder at a concrete manufacturing facility in King George, VA. As a Welder you’re a specialized creator! You’ll weld frames together for concrete panels, meeting strength and durability needs of customers’ solutions. As a welder you’ll utilize various welding techniques including Stick, MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
This position is open to candidates who have recently graduated from a technical or trade school with a welding certification.
Salary:
- $17-$18/hr
Schedule:
- Monday thru Friday, 5am-2pm with OT potential
What You’ll Do as a Welder:
What You’ll Do as a Welder:- Fabricates panels using various techniques such as Stick, MIG, TIG, and ARC welding
- Reviews sketches and blueprints to understand product and equipment setup
- Construct forms for concrete from blueprints using stock material
- Operates machines such as shears, cutoff saws, and drill presses to cut and shape components to specified dimensions
- Customizes forms and parts for concrete modifications
- Performs welding tasks to assemble components together
What You’ll Need as a Welder:
- Mechanical knowledge, strong math and measuring skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics
- Proficiency in MIG welding with solid wire (flux core)
- Skilled in using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch
- Proactively approaches situations with excellent time management, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Comes to work prepared, focused and dedicated
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Education: Consideration will be given to individuals who have completed a technical or trade school certification in welding
