We are hiring a Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Intern at a public utility company in Fredericksburg, VA. This is a mostly remote summer internship for 30 hours/week from mid-June to mid-August.
As a Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Intern you’ll research, prepare regulatory documents, monitor compliance with industry standards, and contribute to various projects aimed at ensuring the company’s adherence to relevant regulations. You’ll gain valuable career experience while finishing your education. Everyday in regulations and compliance is different and exciting, so you’ll need to be adaptable, proactive, and willing to pitch in anywhere!
Salary:
- $21/hr
Schedule:
- mostly remote with occasional travel to the Fredericksburg or nearby offices
What You’ll Do as an Intern:
- Consolidate and develop a location for all rate information
- Develop proposals with the renewable energy team
- Compare and contrast programs and rates of other utilities
- Build special projects
- Learn about utility regulation functions
- Accurately and efficiently manage files and data
- Create reports, documents, and presentations and communicate technical findings for teammates, managers and public stakeholders to easily understand
What You’ll Need as an Intern:
- Current college junior or senior studying business law, economics, accounting, energy systems, environmental science, or technology with good academic standing (3.0 GPA and above)
- Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office products; advanced skills with MS Excel preferred
- Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals across all levels of an organization
- Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, and prioritization skills
- Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Ability to pass background check, credit check and drug screen
