Matern Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator I for a manufacturing company in Fredericksburg, VA. As a Machine Operator I, you’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment, including Brake Machines, Bender Equipment, and Grinders. You’ll start by mastering one machine and progressively expand your skills, with opportunities to advance to higher levels based on your expertise.

Salary:
- $18 – $20 per hour
Schedule:
- Mon. – Thurs. 6:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Fri. – 6:00 am to 10:00 am
What You’ll Do as Machine Operator I:
What You’ll Do as Machine Operator I:- Follow all safety protocols, including E-Stop locations and lockout procedures
- Learn startup, operation, and shutdown procedures for assigned machines
- Read and interpret shop orders, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
- Understand dimensions, tolerances, and setup for accurate part fabrication
- Operate forklifts to safely transport materials within the shop
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S and housekeeping standards
What You’ll Need as Machine Operator I:
- High School/ GED required
- Previous manufacturing experience working with brake and grinding equipment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawings
- Ability to obtain forklift certification within the 1st month of assuming position
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and safely
