Matern Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator (job order 3755) for a concrete manufacturer in Bowling Green, VA. The Machine Operator manages the important machines and materials that build the concrete product to ensure accurate and efficient production. Along the way, the candidate also visually inspects materials and products to ensure a high quality, precisely finished product.
This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who have a strong attention to detail and are eager to learn and develop new skills in the concrete manufacturing industry – with opportunities for overtime to boost your earnings.
Salary:
- $18/hr
Schedule:
- 2:00 PM TO 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday and every other Saturday
What You’ll Do: 
- Reads job specifications to determine concrete bagging machine adjustments and material requirements (e.g., cement powder, gravel, etc)
- Sets stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
- Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
- Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
- Performs routine machine maintenance
- Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in the assigned area
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions
- Collaborates with coworkers to ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Strong attention to detail and dependability
- Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, and prioritization skills
- Willingness to adapt and learn new skills or processes
- Ability to lift to 65lbs with repetitive bending and kneeling
- Must own and wear steel-toed boots for safety on the job site
- Ability to pass a drug screening
