Matern Staffing is hiring a Dispatcher at a local utility company in Fredericksburg, Va.
The Dispatcher will be the first line of communication members interact with when they need help. The Dispatcher will quickly analyze mechanical issues and communicate messages and equipment to the field. Some days may be challenging but knowing you’re someone who can manage and maintain these assets can save time, money, and resources while ensuring that operations run smoothly.
This is a contract-to-hire position with an established company that offers great benefits and growth opportunities upon permanent hire.
Salary:
$20.00 – $25.00/hr., depending on experience
Schedule:
24/7/365 On call availability
Shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays
What You’ll Do: 
- Troubleshoot members’ calls regarding electrical problems and outages
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and effectively coordinate the deployment of field staff, vehicles, and equipment
- Record and enter information into the computer regarding hourly power information, locations, trouble calls and other power-related data
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Strong mechanical and mathematical background
- Flexibility to occasionally work non-traditional hours (occasional evenings, weekends and holidays)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with members and staff
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills for deploying solutions
- Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
- Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, calmly adapts to new situations, always ready to step in to help
- Ability to pass background and credit checks
