Matern Staffing is hiring an Install Technician for a material handling company in Chesapeake, VA. As an Install Technician, you’ll use your mechanical and welding skills to install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment such as dock levelers, overhead doors, truck restraints, and cranes. You’ll play a key role in keeping warehouse systems running smoothly by working both independently and alongside a reliable team.

Schedule:
- 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday
What You’ll Do:
- Install and service warehouse and dock equipment, including doors, levelers, restraints, and cranes
- Troubleshoot and repair new and used equipment
- Interpret and follow manufacturer guidelines, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Complete work orders accurately and communicate progress or issues clearly
- Operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts, and scissor lifts safely and effectively
- Work at heights while following all safety procedures and protocols
- Occasionally travel or work weekends as needed, typically scheduled and voluntary
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Skilled with hand and power tools; comfortable working at heights
- Valid driver’s license and clean record, plus ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Steel-toe boots required (other PPE provided by company)
- Preferred: experience with dock/door systems, welding, or fabrication
