Matern Staffing is hiring a Technical Sales Specialist for a manufacturing company in Fredericksburg, VA. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you’ll support both internal and external customers by providing expert guidance on spare parts, standalone units, and small system solutions. You’ll play a key role in the quoting process—from initial request to order fulfillment—while collaborating with many departments to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
With a strong technical understanding of our products and how they integrate into larger systems, you’ll help customers find the right solutions to keep their operations running smoothly.
This is a direct hire position.
Salary:
- 56,000-$75,000/yr

What You’ll Do:
- Manage a high-volume of inbound calls and emails, providing accurate responses and directing inquiries as needed
- Collaborate with Product and Regional Sales Managers to prepare quotations
- Assess customer needs and recommend suitable system solutions
- Prepare proposals for standalone units and system upgrades
- Process orders for spare parts, warranties, and small systems
- Work cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
What You’ll Need:
- High School/ GED required; actively pursuing associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Technical certifications or specialized training related to the industry (e.g., HVAC, industrial systems, automation).
- Proven experience in technical sales or a customer-facing technical support role
- Experience in the industries of manufacturing, engineering systems, or automation
- Familiarity with preparing quotations, proposals, and working with product managers and sales teams
- Ability to quickly learn and apply technical concepts to sales processes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers
