Consumer Design Manufacturer
Matern Staffing is hiring a Shipping Clerk (job id 2608) for a consumer environment design and manufacturing company in Fredericksburg, VA. A successful Shipping Clerk is experienced with excellent record-keeping skills and efficient material handling skills who can support the business goals and meet customers’ needs.
As a Shipping Clerk you schedule the orders leaving the business, ensuring accurate records and well-prepared shipments for on-time delivery. Your strong attention to detail and time management skills will keep the deliveries moving seamlessly, ultimately making the customers happy.
Salary:
- $17/hr
Schedule:
- This is a contract-to-hire position, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm
What You’ll Do:
What You’ll Do:- Coordinates and schedules all outbound loads and coordinates with sales, production, and client to ensure on-time delivery
- Schedules loads to be shipped via common carrier with outside freight companies and coordinates routing of orders
- Determines proper loading order and placement of product
- Ensures all paperwork meets Universal and DOT regulations and procedures
- Maintains documentation and reporting, and updates warehouse management system for order processing
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma/GED and at least 6 months experience in shipping and receiving
- Working knowledge of standard DOT practices, procedures, and regulations
- Experience with proper loading techniques and weight limitations
- Strong data entry and mathematical skills to help with quick and accurate typing and calculations
- Strong attention to detail with great follow-through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades and species
- Proactively approaches situations with excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
