Matern Staffing is hiring a Production Manager for a cabinetry manufacturer in Culpeper, Va.

As a Production Manager you oversee the production operations to ensure the plant’s goals are met. You’ll use your critical thinking skills to anticipate roadblocks and suggest process improvements and your leadership to coach employees to meet plant goals and make the customers happy.
The Production Manager is responsible for developing and implementing production plans, monitoring accountability through the plant, and ensuring efficient, quality and safe cabinet manufacturing practices.

Salary: $80,000-$120,000/yr

What You’ll Do as Production Manager:

  • Develop and oversee production plans that meet business goals
  • Use knowledge of Lean Management principles for identifying challenges, roadblocks, and streamlining processes to solve problems
  • Collaborate and communicate with supervisors, departments, and leadership about problem solutions
  • Communicate effectively between departments, vendors, and customers
  • Brainstorm and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce material and labor costs, increase efficiencies, and improve safety and quality of finished goods
  • Monitor the performance of supervisors and departments and proactively coordinate staffing needs, promotions, performance plans, and behavior coaching
  • Collaborate with peers about the organization’s structure to gain optimum productivity, meeting customer delivery

What You’ll Need as Production Manager:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with ability to lead and develop people professionally
  • Active listening skills with ability to collaborate effectively with employees and stakeholders to anticipate roadblocks, resolve issues, and implement solutions that meet plant goals
  • Strong observational, technical, manufacturing, and managerial skills
  • Calmly and efficiently adapts, sees the potential for opportunity when challenges present themselves
  • Superior computer skills for accurately and efficiently documenting and communicating
  • Proactively approaches situations with excellent time management and prioritization skills
