Machine Operator

Matern Staffing is currently recruiting a Machine Operator at a tile manufacturing facility in Doswell, Va. 

As a Machine Operator you’re an analyzer, builder and mechanic who runs the important machines that build the product and makes adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient production. 

The Machine Operator is responsible for the continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications, detecting jams or malfunctions and adjusting as necessary. The Machine Operator is a high-energy and self-motived individual. With safety, teamwork, and communication as the foundation of their position, they use their keen eye and trained ear to ensure machines are properly set up, operated, and maintained. 

Salary:

• $17/hr

Schedule:

• Monday thru Thurs: 7:30am-4pm and Fridays (6am-2pm)

What You’ll Do:

• Operates production machinery in accordance with specifications 
• Feeds materials into production machinery 
• Accurately produces products while carrying out basic quality and testing checks 
• Packages finished goods to be shipped 
• Usage of pallet jacks and forklift trucks 
• Cleans and does basic preventative maintenance of machinery, workstations, and production area 

What You’ll Need: 

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team 
• Understanding and usage of basic arithmetic, hand tools, and delicate measuring instruments  
• Understanding basic machinery button commands 
• Previous forklift and pallet jack experience 
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
