Matern Staffing is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician (job id 2450) at a leading concrete manufacturer in Caroline County, Virginia.  The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment in the manufacturing plant. They will also provide technical support to production, maintenance, safety, testing, and process improvement.

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician you’ll use your curiosity and knowledge of mechanical workings to detect, troubleshoot, and fix equipment. You’ll also provide strategic recommendations to improve process efficiency and output.

Salary:

  • $20-$25/hr

Schedule:

  • Monday thru Friday 6pm-6am or 6am-6pm
  • must have flexibility to change shift schedules
  • Some Saturdays

Industrial Maintenance TechnicianWhat You’ll Do as an Industrial Maintenance Technician:

  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems
  • Accurately records maintenance work performed and maintains related records and files
  • Performs machinery repairs, including dismantling and replacing defective components
  • Operates shop tools and equipment, and utilize maintenance-related machines to the extent of skill level
  • Aids in electrical projects and execute minor electrical repairs
  • Assists in pipe fitting and independently handle certain installation tasks.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least one year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic diagrams, familiar with 12 VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring or circuits and capable of diagnosing 115 VAC control circuitry
  • Experience with performing preventative maintenance and repairs to conveyor systems
  • Must have welding and oxy/fuel cutting experience
  • Basic electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge
  • Enjoys learning how things work and has a curiosity for brainstorming process improvements and finding/implementing solutions
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings and instructions
  • Excellent communication skills for relaying important machine and process information
