Matern Staffing is currently hiring a Delivery Helper (job id 2737) in Manassas, VA for a national building materials company. The Delivery Helper will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading, delivering to customers, and unloading materials from/to delivery trucks.
As a Delivery Helper you’ll safely load and help deliver the products to keep customers happy, production on schedule and America moving forward! There is opportunity for overtime and full-time potential!
Salary:
- $15/hr
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7am start time; end time varies depending on last delivery
What You’ll Do as a Delivery Helper:
What You’ll Do as a Delivery Helper:- Rides in van and assist with deliveries
- Safely and efficiently loads and unloads building materials (millwork, lumber, windows, etc) onto delivery trucks and on job sites
- Acts as ‘spotter’ in assisting driver while reversing or navigating in congested areas
- Safely secures load and/or assists driver in securing loads before delivery
- Evaluates job site for hazards before making delivery
- Maintains positive relationship with customer during delivery
What You’ll Need as a Delivery Helper:
- Previous warehouse experience and forklift experience
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repetitively
- Strong attention to detail with great follow-through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness
- Strong communication skills when faced with challenges about location, solutions and business impacts
- Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
- Steel toe boots, long pants, long shirts are required
