Matern Staffing is hiring Skilled Production (Job Id # 2739) to construct materials for a national building materials supplier in Manassas, Va. As Skilled Production serving the building industry, you’re a crucial part of delivering high-quality finished wood products and peace of mind to customers.
You’ll use important tools and machines used to cut, shape and finish wood for the customers. If you have a keen sense of precision and you’re ready to work hard, there is growth opportunity and overtime potential! This position is outdoors and you’ll need to wear long pants, steel toe boots, and shirts with sleeves.
Salary:
- $18/hr
Schedule:
- 7am-3:30pm (Monday through Friday)
What You’ll Do as Skilled Production:
What You’ll Do as Skilled Production:- Operates basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders
- Uses measuring tools, saws, pneumatic tools, and nail guns to accurately construct wooden products
- Reviews work orders and adjusts saw for required cuts
- Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls
- Stacks cut lumber after processing
- Balance working efficiently and safely to meet production goals and time deadlines
- Reviews quality assurance in products and alerts necessary staff
What You’ll Need as Skilled Production:
- General understanding of basic woodworking and power tools
- Curiosity to further your woodworking skills with previous saw experience
- Strong measuring and mathematical skills to help with quick and accurate measurements and calculations
- Strong attention to detail with great follow-through to ensure accuracy, safety, and comprehensiveness
- Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, punctuality, and prioritization skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials
