Forklift Service Technician

Matern Staffing is hiring a Forklift Service Technician with a material handling company in Verona, VA. As a Forklift Service Technician you’ll use your strong customer building skills along with your experience and knowledge of forklift related material handling equipment to detect, troubleshoot, and fix equipment.  

You’ll build trust with customers while using your mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system expertise to fix equipment efficiently and accurately, contributing to the success of the material handling company and ultimately making customers happy. 

Salary:

• $25-$45/hr depending on experience

Schedule:

• 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday 

What You’ll Do: 

• Complete basic diagnostics and repairs on a variety of material handling equipment such as forklifts and aerial lift types, including electric, gas, diesel, and propane forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers 
• Manage the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment  
• Load and unload equipment as needed 
• Complete training programs and maintain updated product knowledge to further develop skills and knowledge 
• Ensure a clean and safety conscious work area 
• Promote and sell the service department’s offerings to customers, including service work, inspections, and parts, to enhance customer safety and satisfaction 
• Provide mentorship training to less experienced service technicians 

What You’ll Need: 

• Proven experience in diagnosing forklifts and aerial lift types, including electric, gas, diesel, and propane forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers 
• Knowledge of tools and techniques used for equipment repair 
• Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems 
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. occasionally 
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record 
• Willingness to travel for job assignments 
• Associate’s degree or progress towards a Diesel Technology degree or related field is preferred 
• Ability to meet the physical demands and duration of exertion required for all job functions 
• Ability to provide your own tools; company will supply a work van and uniforms
