Matern Staffing is hiring a Food Production Worker (job id #2394) for a food manufacturer in Stafford, Va. You’ll ensure the timely flow of raw materials and packaging to and from the production area following good manufacturing practices and food safety to assure production of safe, quality product.
Food – it’s what fuels our bodies and delights our minds! As a Food Production Worker, you’re an important role in ensuring the quality and efficient preparation of fresh, frozen and packaged food creations for shipping to local customers.
This is a contract-to-hire position in the areas of food assembly and food preparation. Potential to work 40+ hours/week with overtime!
Salary:
- $17-$18.50/hr
Schedule:
- Morning, Day, Night shifts available
What You’ll Do as Food Production Worker:
- Ensure safe, timely and efficient transport of raw materials and packaging
- Rotate frozen items according to thaw schedule to ensure proper thaw time prior to production
- Move finished product from the production floor to the order selection area and/or freezers
- Follow food safety and manufacturing practices
What You’ll Need as Food Production Worker:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Basic math skills and ability to speak/write English
- Experience using basic cooking tools and equipment
- Ability to withstand a cold work environment
- Stand, bend, push and pull for 10-hour shift
- Material handling experience with ability to lift 50 pounds to chest height on a consistent basis
