Meet the Matern Staffing Team
Ginni Matern Mastin, President & Founder
As President & Founder of Matern Staffing, Ginni is a loyal leader to her employees and friendly advisor to all job applicants. She is a trusted partner to all of the corporate clients and the fresh, enthusiastic force driving her company’s excellence. Ginni is responsible for the general operations of a full-service employment agency including marketing, sales, client accounts, employee recruitment, payroll, and customer service.
Before founding Matern Staffing, Ginni worked alongside her mother, Cindy Duffer Matern, at Stat Employment after graduating from Ferrum college. Later, Ginni returned to school earning a Respiratory Care degree and then spent over six years working as a respiratory therapist before becoming a pharmaceutical sales representative. After her mother’s sudden passing in 2015, Ginni became interim President of At Once Staffing while simultaneously working full-time in the health care industry.
Ginni’s past experiences working with her mother at Stat Employment and as interim President of At Once Staffing will serve her well as her new role as President & Founder of Matern Staffing. In addition, Ginni’s broad-based business expertise, dedication to her clients, and strong personal ethics form the foundation of Matern Staffing and the basis for its excellent reputation in the Fredericksburg business community.
Michelle D. Mills-Jones, VP of Operations
Michelle began her career in the staffing industry in 1987. She has experience in skill matching applicants and employees in clerical/administrative, light industrial, healthcare and management positions. From 1997 to 2008 Michelle co-owned Excel Staffing Specialists, Inc. where she enjoyed much success and gained her passion for tackling the challenges of large volume staffing accounts with “outside the box” approaches. In 2010 Michelle joined our team and continued her reputation for exceptional customer service, excellent staff retention records, and long-lasting business relationships. She is a proud mom to three daughters, three sons, and a proud “Me-Mommie” to her first granddaughter.
Teresa West, Staffing Director
Teresa worked in the staffing industries in both the Fredericksburg, VA and Atlanta, GA areas. She helped staff the 1996 Bicentennial Olympics in Atlanta. After working in Atlanta, she relocated to the Virginia area. Teresa joined our team in 2000 and is involved in all phases of employment: recruitment, job placement, and employee relations. Teresa continues to build long-lasting relationships with the area’s top businesses and is dedicated to finding the ideal match between the client’s criteria and applicant’s needs and abilities. She is a proud mom to a daughter.
Kris Montgomery, Web & Social Media Coordinator
After earning a Business Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech in 2002, Kris moved to Raleigh, NC. She worked as a Business Analyst for 9 years at NC Farm Bureau. She gave birth to her first daughter in 2011, and became a stay-at-home mom. Wanting to find a professional outlet while being a stay-at-home mom, Kris began blogging about the local Raleigh parks in 2011 and working part-time for Matern Staffing in 2012.
Kris enjoys carrying on her family’s passion for strengthening the Greater Fredericksburg, VA workforce at Matern Staffing. She’s responsible for supporting and enhancing the company’s website, and develops and contributes to the company’s social media sites. She’s the proud mom to two young daughters, and wife to a fellow Hokie. She resides in Raleigh, NC and works remotely part-time.
Jenna Hudspeth, Administrative Support Specialist
Jenna joined the Matern Staffing team in October 2017, but has a history of customer relationship building and employee recruitment. She began working at Kings Dominion at the young age of 15. After graduating from Caroline High School she worked in the food service industry for over 10 years where she became the General Manager. As General Manager she learned customer service skills, on-the-spot problem solving, and set strong work ethic standards for new employees.
While working full-time she also pursued her love of exercise and became a group fitness instructor at the local YMCA. Jenna’s energetic personality, kindness and knack for teaching earned her employee of the quarter at the YMCA. Since joining Matern Staffing she quickly learned how to handle the daily challenges of the staffing industry. Her welcoming demeanor makes clients and employees feel at home. She is goal-oriented and motivates our staff on a daily basis. Jenna is a proud mom to a beautiful 4-year old daughter, and currently resides in Caroline County.
